"පොත් කියවන මුද්දර" පුහුණු සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන නාත්තන්ඩියට...

"පොත් කියවන මුද්දර" පුහුණුකරුවන් පුහුණු කිරීමේ විශේෂ වැඩසටහන 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 04 වැනිදා නාත්තන්ඩිය නගර සභා ශාලාවේදී ඉතා සාර්ථක ලෙස පැවැත්විණි. කියවීමේ මාසයට සමගාමීව සාම්ප්‍රදායික පොත් කියවීමේ රටාවෙන් ඔබ්බට ගිය දෘශ්‍ය හා ගවේෂණාත්මක කියවීමේ චාරිකාවකට මුලපුරමින් මෙම වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක විය. වයඹ පළාතේ නාත්තන්ඩිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාව මඟින් සංවිධානය කෙරුණු මෙම මුද්දර කියවීමේ පුහුණුකරුවන් පුහුණුකරුවන් පුහුණු කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන, ඊට අයත් පුස්තකාල 15ක පද්ධතියේ පුස්තකලයාධිපතිවරුන් ඇතුළු කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂයෙන් සංවිධානය කර තිබුණි. ඒ සඳහා නාත්තන්ඩිය, දුන්කන්නාව, මාරවිල, මහවැව, කොට්ට්‍රාමුල්ල, කටුනේරිය, සුමනකුසුම්ගම, තොඩුවාව, වලහපිටිය, සාගරගම, ඉරණවිල, යක්දෙස්සාව, නාරාවිල, තබ්බෝව යන මහජන හා ජංගම පුස්තකාල කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය හා එම පුස්තකාල නියෝජනය කරමින් පාඨක සමාජ සාමාජිකයින් හා දරු දැරියන් සීමිත සංඛ්‍යාවක් ද සහභාගී විය.

කියවීමේ සංස්කෘතිය සහ ඉතිහාසය දරුවන්ට හා පාඨකයන්ට කියාදීමේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ හා වයඹ පළාතේ ඉතිහාසය, ආගමික සහජීවනය එකට යා කරන ඉතා වැදගත් සන්ධිස්ථානයක් "පොත් කියවන මුද්දර" මඟින් පෙන්වා දුනි. දේශීය ඉතිහාසය සහ මුද්දර අතර ඇති මෙම සබඳතාව මතු කර දැක්වීමෙන්, පුස්තකාල කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයට මෙන්ම පාඨකයන්ටද මුද්දරය යනු "ඉතිහාසය කියවන කඩදාසි කැබැල්ලක්" බව පහසුවෙන් වටහා දිය හැකි විය. එමෙන්ම, පෙළපොත් පදනම් කරගත් නව්‍ය කියවීමක් උදෙසා මුද්දරය දෘශ්‍ය ආධාරකයක් ලෙස භාවිත කරන අයුරු පැහැදිලි කරදීමෙන් පෙළපොත් ආශ්‍රිත කරුණු ඉතා පහසුවෙන් සහ රසවත්ව කියවීමටත්, අධ්‍යයනය කිරීමටත් හැකි බවට සහභාගී වූ සැම තුළම නව උද්‍යෝගයක් ඇති විය.

මුද්දර කියවීමේ මූලික පියවරක් ලෙසින් වයඹ පළාත් පුෂ්පය වන "ඇට්ටේරියා මල" නිරූපිත විශාලනය කරන ලද සමරු මුද්දරයක් පද්ධතියේ සෑම පුස්තකාලයකටම පරිත්‍යාග කෙරුණු අතර, අනාගතයේදී නාත්තන්ඩිය පුස්තකාලය මූලික කරගෙන මුද්දර තොරතුරු ඒකකයක් පිහිටුවීමටත්, විශේෂයෙන්ම මහවැව සොයිලියස් මැන්දිස් අනුස්මරණ මහජන පුස්තකාලය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගෙන පළාත් මුද්දර එකතුවක් ගොඩ නැගීම සඳහාත් අගනා අවස්ථා පවතින බවත් ඔවුන් විසින් පෙන්වා දෙන ලදී.

නාත්තන්ඩිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ගරු සභාපති සාගර කුමාර විජේසේකර මහතා, ප්‍රජා සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපති ඩිලාන් දුෂ්මන්ත මහතා සහ ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රී දමිත් මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැති මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා නාත්තන්ඩිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාව විසින් පූර්ණ සහාය, අනුග්‍රහය හා උසස් ඇගයීමක් ලබා දෙන ලදී. ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා ප්‍රජා සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපතිතුමන් ඇතුළු එම කමිටු සාමාජිකයින්, ප්‍රජා සංවර්ධන නිලධාරී සමන්ත විජේතුංග මහතා, නාත්තන්ඩිය මහජන පුස්තකාලයේ ප්‍රධාන පුස්තකාලයාධිපතිනී රන්ගි ඉෂාරා පතිරණ මහත්මිය ඇතුළුව සෙසු සියලු පුස්තකාධිපතිවරුන් සහ සමස්ත පුස්තකාල කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ මහත් කැපවීම වැඩසටහෙන් සාර්ථකත්වයට විශාල රුකුලක් විය. මේ සඳහා අතහිත දුන් නාත්තන්ඩිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ගරු ලේකම් හිමාලි දිල්රුක්ෂි මිය සහ සියලුම සභික මණ්ඩලයටත්, සහයෝගය දැක්වූ සමස්ත කණ්ඩායමටත් අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තූතිය පුද කර සිටිමු.

"Book Reading Stamps" Train the Trainer Program to Nattandiya...

A special program to train trainers for "Book Reading Stamps" was held successfully on September 04, 2026 at the Nattandiya Municipal Council Hall. This program was implemented in conjunction with the Reading Month, initiating a visual and exploratory reading journey that went beyond the traditional book reading pattern. Organized by the Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha in the North Western Province, this Stamp Reading Trainers Training program was specially organized for the librarians and staff of the 15 libraries under its system. A limited number of library staff and children representing the public and mobile libraries of Nattandiya, Dunkannawa, Marawila, Mahawewa, Kottramulla, Katuneriya, Sumanakusumgama, Thoduwawa, Walahapitiya, Sagaragama, Iranawila, Yakdessawa, Narawila, and Thabbowa also participated.

In teaching the culture of reading and history to children and readers, the "Book Reading Stamps" showed a very important milestone that connects the history and religious coexistence of Sri Lanka and the North Western Province. By highlighting this relationship between local history and stamps, the library staff and readers could easily understand that the stamp is a "piece of paper that reads history". Also, by explaining how to use stamps as a visual aid for an innovative reading based on textbooks, a new enthusiasm was aroused in all the participants that they could read and study textbook-related material very easily and interestingly.

As a preliminary step in reading stamps, an enlarged commemorative stamp depicting the North Western Provincial Flower "Atteria Flower" (Murraya paniculate) was donated to each library in the system, and they pointed out that there are valuable opportunities to establish a stamp information unit based on the Nattandiya Library in the future, and especially to build a provincial stamp collection centered on the Mahawewa Soilis Mendis Memorial Public Library.

The Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha gave its full support, patronage and high appreciation to this program, which was held under the patronage of the Honorable Chairman of the Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. Sagara Kumara Wijesekera, the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Mr. Dilan Dushmantha and the Pradeshiya Sabha Member, Mr. Damith. The great dedication of the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha Community Development Committee, including the members of that committee, the Community Development Officer, Mr. Samantha Wijethunga, the Chief Librarian of the Nattandiya Public Library, Mrs. Rangi Ishara Pathirana, all the other librarians and the entire library staff, was a great help in the success of the program. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Secretary of the Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha, Ms. Himali Dilrukshi, and all the members of the board and the entire team who supported this endeavor.
