ගාලු ඓතිහාසික මන්දිර කෞතුකාගාරය සහ මුද්දර උරුමය

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඓතිහාසික ගාලු කොටුව තුළ 31, 39 ලේන් බාන් වීදියේ ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කරන ලද 17 වන සියවසේ ලන්දේසි යටත් විජිත නිවසක පිහිටා  තිබෙන ඓතිහාසික මන්දිර කෞතුකාගාරය උරුමයක අභිමානය මැනවින් කියාපායි. 1992 දී අබ්දුල් ගෆාර් මහතා විසින් පිහිටුවන ලද එය දකුණු ආසියාවේ විශාලතම පුද්ගලික අයිතිය ඇති කෞතුකාගාරය යි. සිය පියාගේ අඩිපාරේ යමින් ඔහුගේ පුත් අමීන් හුසේන් මහතා ජනතාවට මෙම උරුමය කිසිඳු අය කිරීමකින් තොරව රසවිඳීමට ලබාදෙන ජාතික මෙහෙවර සැබවින්ම අගය කල යුතුය.
මෙම කෞතුකාගාරයේ ප්‍රදර්ශන විවිධාකාර වන අතර, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ යටත් විජිත උරුමය (පෘතුගීසි, ලන්දේසි සහ බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය යුග) සහ හිමිකරුගේ පෞද්ගලික අවශ්‍යතා පිළිබිඹු කරන විවිධ අයිතම මෙම එකතුවෙහි අඩංගු වේ. පැරණි ශ්‍රී ලාංකික කාසි, ලොව පුරා මුදල්, මැටි භාණ්ඩ, පෝසිලේන් භාණ්ඩ, පෞරාණික ලාම්පු, පැරණි කැමරා, කාර්මික උපකරණ, ආයුධ, ගෘහ හා මුළුතැන්ගෙයි භාණ්ඩ මෙන්ම සුවිශේෂී සහ දුර්ලභ  මුද්දර එකතුවකින් ද එය සමන්විත වේ.
මෙම සුවිශේෂී මුද්දර එකතුව කෞතුකාගාරය තුළ ඇති විශාල කෞතුක වස්තු එකතුවේ කොටසකි. මුද්දර පිළිබඳ හදාරන්නන්ට එය වැදගත් වන්නේ එවැනි මෙලෙසින් පොදුජන ප්‍රදර්ශනයට තබා ඇති එවන් දුර්ලභ එකතුවක් මෙරටේ කොතැනකවත් දක්නට නොලැබෙන බැවිනි. එහි මුද්දර එකතුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මුද්දර උරුමයන් පිළිබඳ දුර්ලභ, දේශීයකරණය කළ ලේඛනාගාරයක් ලෙස කැපී පෙනෙන අතර එදිනෙදා සන්නිවේදනය විශාල යටත් විජිත හා ජාතික ඉතිහාසයන්ට සම්බන්ධ කරයි. එයට පිවිසෙන සෑම කෙනෙකුටම විශේෂයෙන් ලාංකේය මුද්දර  ඉතිහාසය මතක් කර දෙන දෙයක් හෝ ඔවුන් කිසිදා නොදැන සිටි දෙයක් දැක ගැනීමට සහ ඉගෙන ගැනීමට හැකියි. ඓතිහාසික මන්දිරයේ සුන්දරත්වය එයයි. 
අමීන් හුසේන් මහතා වැන්නෙකු මගින් ලාංකේය මුද්දරයේ අනුපමය උරුමය සුරක්ෂා වීමද පැසසුම් කටයුත්තකි. මේ සඳහා මුද්දර ප්‍රවීණයෙකු වන රොහාන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතාගේ දායකත්වයද ප්‍රශංසනාත්මකය.
ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය මුද්දර උරුමය සුරකින මෙම එකමුතුවට "කියවන මුද්දර" අපගේ සුබ පැතුම්!
Galle Historic House Museum and Stamp Heritage
The Historic House Museum, housed in a restored 17th century Dutch colonial house at 31, 39 Lane Barn Street in the historic Galle Fort of Sri Lanka, is a testament to the pride of a heritage. Established in 1992 by Mr. Abdul Ghaffar, it is the largest privately owned museum in South Asia. Following in his father’s footsteps, his son Mr. Ameen Hussain is truly appreciated for the mission of making this heritage accessible to the public free of charge.
The exhibits in this museum are diverse and contain various items reflecting Sri Lanka’s colonial heritage (Portuguese, Dutch and British eras) and the personal interests of the owner. It also houses a collection of old Sri Lankan coins, world currencies, pottery, porcelain, antique lamps, old cameras, industrial equipment, weapons, household and kitchen items, as well as unique and rare postage stamps.
This unique stamp collection is part of the museum’s large collection of artifacts. It is important to stamp enthusiasts because such a  collection on public display is not found anywhere else in the country. Its stamp collection stands out as a rare, localized archive of Sri Lanka’s stamp heritage, linking everyday communication to the larger colonial and national histories. Everyone who visits it can see and learn something that reminds them of the Sri Lankan stamp history or something they never knew. That is the beauty of the historic collection.
It is also commendable that Mr. Ameen Hussain has safeguarded the unique heritage of Sri Lankan stamps. The contribution of philatelist Rohan Fernando in this mission is also commendable.
